“The method of Satyagraha requires that the Satyagrahi should never lose hope, so long as there is the slightest ground left for it.”
On 12, March 2007 Alan Johnstone, a BBC reporter was abducted in Gaza while he was returning to his house after work. To this day there is little known about his whereabouts or physical condition. Truthfully there is little known about much of anything concerning him. However, as I have posted before this abduction has in a sense brought the three faiths of Christianity, Islam and Judaism together as the leaders from the churches, cynagogs (I’m sure I misspelled sorry about that) and mosques in London to pray for his safety. Even that was a step forward for hope, not just that he should return safely (though that would be an ideal outcome) but that there can be areas where three different parties can set aside their differences for the greater good. In all reality, at least in the way the situation in the Middle East has been of late, that he will come home but that doesn’t mean that one should give up hope. Even if it is mearly a fool’s hope. I shall post a link to the petition pleading for his release.
