Georgia Accuses Russia Of Commiting Acts of Aggression

“A ‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.”
Georgian Interior Minister, Vano Merabishvili has accused Russia of firing a missle into Georgian Territory in a blatant act of aggression. The missle was said by Georgian officials to have hit the village of Tsitelubani forty miles West of Georgia’s capitol, Tbilisi but it did not explode. Russian officials are quick to deny the accusations and stated that on the day in question no planes had been sent into Georgian territory. However, Mr. Merabishvili stated that the planes had been spotted on their radar had originated from Russia and flew back the same way.
Georgia will probably remain steadfast in thier claims that this is a direct act of aggression from Russia. Russia will most probably continue to deny the accusations. Hopefully this is a misunderstanding that can be overcome peacefully. Georgia has every right to be leery of Russia because it seems that a lot of Putin’s actions indicate that he wishes things to return to the way they were during the cold war. Peace is never easy but it is worth persuing and with any amount of good fortune it can be maintained in this circumstance.
